Story
Why is every film or tv programme a sequel or a remake? Why are people so f***ing hung up about swearing? Why do the asterisks in that sentence make it okay? Why do so many people want to stop other people doing things, and how can they be stopped from stopping them? These and many other questions trouble David Mitchell. Join him on a tour of the absurdities of modern life - from Ryanair to Richard III, Downton Abbey to phone etiquette, UKIP to hot dogs made of cats.

Story
Paddy McGuinness is a much-loved presence on British TV. His stand-up tours sell out across the country. His acting roles are legendary, from Phoenix Nights and Max and Paddy to The Keith and Paddy Picture Show. How did all start? Let Paddy take you back to a two-up, two-down terrace in 1970's Bolton, where his lifey began. He grew up alone with his beloved mum, neighbourhood matriarch Pat, who worked two jobs, as a barmaid and a cleaner, always keeping food on the table at home and almost always keeping her tearaway teen out of trouble.

Story
Where do comedians come from? Why is it that one person is a funny bloke down the pub while another actually makes a living by standing up in front of an audience telling jokes? And where does all that material come from? Well, young Lee McKillop used to wonder that too. Growing up in his parents’ pub, small and wiry in a world of bigger and chunkier specimens, Lee quickly learned that cracking jokes was a way to get attention.

So funny!
An absolute belter to listen to as I painted my office. Loved all the Bolton references as I’m a Bolton girl living in Sydney.
Keeping it real as always. Loved it!

Proper giggling and as a 70’s baby from the north west a lot was familiar. The extra, non book parts were also fab! Thanks Mr Kay

Fantastically Down to Earth!
Some of the best bits are what you wouldn’t get with reading the book, the audible only bits that Peter breaks off script to provide further detail and to share his ad lib thoughts, freshly remembered. A joy!
I looked forward to the drive home when I would catch up with my listen once more.
Thank you for the journey!
Cheers,
Mark.

Such a joy to listen Peter Kay read his book. So funny and it's great how he stops reading the book and talks about something else he remembers. It's like listening to his stands up at times.
