Different fantasy

Narrator wasn't bad as she tried to put feeling into her reading but the laugh she gave for every character was annoying and identical. Story was different in that travelling through portals would send you to unknown times and destinations which resulted in a daughter trying to rescue her mother who only just gave birth to her. The love of the MC was unbelievably quick especially as she didn't think they were compatible species. Also unbelievable was how good a fighter the MC was with no training and experience.
