They tried to kill him to cover up an ancient secret. Now Sean Wyatt is plunged head first into a race against time to save his best friend and the lives of billions.

A 4,000-year-old mystery lurks in the hills of Georgia. While investigating a strange series of ancient symbols, an archaeologist vanishes, and a professor he entrusted with the secret is murdered. Former government agent Sean Wyatt learns of his friend's disappearance and the murder. Now he must unravel the clues to the ancient mystery that holds incredible power.

To save his friend, Sean will have to fight off highly trained mercenaries in hand to hand combat, violent shootouts, and high speed car chases through the Blue Ridge Mountains. And in the end, what he learns will change the history books as we know them.

Great history mystery with a hunky hero!

I loved this book! Sean Wyatt was a fun character that reminded me of the cleverness of Nelson DeMille's John Corey and the smart history buff of Dan Brown's Robert Langdon. I was super surprised to find myself liking Sean right from the start (usually it takes me a couple of books to really get to know a character.) The pace of the story was fast and there were some super interesting ideas that made me do that "mind blown" motion off the side of my head. Will for sure get the rest of the series! I thought the narrator did a good job, an interesting and entertaining listen!

I just can’t do it

I am going to put this as delicately as possible because I truly do not want to offend this narrator but as I’m listening to this book (I’m only 10 minutes in and just can’t go further) I feel like I accidentally went to the children’s section? This story might be good but I’ll never know because his voice makes me think I’m 4 years old being read a bedtime story. Even parts that could be suspenseful feel like I want to laugh. Reader beware, if you are interested in this book please listen to the sample first and make sure you can handle the narrator. I decided I couldn’t. Sorry author and narrator to be so blunt but I felt the feedback was important.

A new series of archeology based adventure

This is the first Sean Wyatt adventure. As a new series it does suffer from the usual issues of finding it's footing. But not that much. It fairly quickly gets into a nice rhythm and runs with it. Please note that the mysteries here are all of the real-world variety, so don't expect anything mystical or otherworldly. As such it does a good job and I plan on continuing the series. For those who care about such things, no sex, minimal swearing (if any), but with a goodly amount of violence and murders. I recommend this to people who like their speculative history with a dash of gun play.

Poor character development.

Started this book over a year ago, I struggled to care about the characters. By then end I was just listening to finish, one of the worst books I have completed on audible.

Great story, the voices not so much.

I loved the story. I may not agree with the author's theory, but he did his research, and provided an interesting perspective. The narrator has a great voice when he's reading the narrative, but the voices he makes up for the characters make them sound whimpy.

Pretty good!

I wouldn't say I'm a professional audiable listener but I do listen to books everyday while working. One thing I've discovered is an audio book could be good but it's the reader who makes it great. Don't get me wrong the reader of this book was alright but at times I felt they were feeling a little bored. Other than that if Action adventure is ur thing and you love Indiana Jones as much as I do then you'll enjoy this book

a poor man's Indiana Jones

when I read the synopsis of this book, the first thing i thought of was Indiana Jones and i wasn't mistaken. however it wasn't as good as the Indiana Jones movies... it tried to be, but just wasn't. some of the parts, particularly with the bad guys was so cliche and predictable I almost had to skip it because I knew what was going to happen and it did. it did keep me interested for the most part however there is a cliff hanger (of course there is), but I don't think I'll be listening to part 2.
