I listened to this directly after finishing the first of this series and perhaps loved it more than the first. A dozen years on, this tale is now told from the perspective of the original protagonist, her young sidekick, now an adult, a few minor characters from the first book and a new character. This new character throws an interesting light - of her culture and circumstance - through the development of this character. Terrific twists and conflict.

This story is a fabulous continuation of the first book but would also easily stand alone. Listening you find yourself drawn into the lives of the characters and wanting to know more of them.

The author created an interesting story, around three main characters. She cleverly intertwined the plots.
