"The Scarlet Letter", published in 1850, is an American novel written by Nathaniel Hawthorne and is generally considered to be his magnum opus. Set in 17th-century Puritan Boston, it tells the story of Hester Prynne, who gives birth after committing adultery, refuses to name the father, and struggles to create a new life of repentance and dignity. Narrator

Although the story is a very good one, it is hard to cope with the narrator’s reading style. It’s very bland, and there are too many pauses that sound exactly alike. I often found myself deep in thought, drowning out the narrator with my own thoughts. I became irritated at the reader multiple times but powered through it. I have it five stars overall because it’s not fair to rate the book low over something petty like this opinion of mine.

Beautiful rendition

Erica Collin's wonderfully smooth voice made listening to this great edition of the Scarlett Letter a pleasant experience. I listened to the whole book in one sitting.
