disappointing

narrator was able to capture the characters emotions and told the story quite well. I am disappointed with the main female character , Claudia. very complex person, a severe case of hot and cold. i am deeply confused about the characterization.

Anne Flosnik cannot pronounce F

I am sorry to be rude but the reader sounded like her dentures were falling off. I couldn't finish the story.

very satisfied

I loved reading the book and the narrator gave more depth to emotional passages, making it a pleasurable and heightened experience.

Drama of presumptions and misunderstandings

Possibly the angstiest book I ever had a displeasure to listen to, there is so much of it it’s unbearable. Hero is ridden with guilt and takes all the wrongs on his shoulders but despite of that he is a strong character; devastatingly handsome, madly in love with heroine and loyal to his family.

Heroine, on the other hand, is so unreasonable it’s impossible to like her. She attributed all the worst character traits to Julian, blamed him for all the sins of humanity and played hot and cold most of the book, she lies and hides things from him just to prove her point of view. The only redeeming quality she had is her kindness to other women and desire to improve their lives.

The pace pickups a bit in the second part of the book after Soffy’s story unfolds and eventually our heroes reconcile and have their over the top happily ever after...

I didn’t enjoy the melodrama and won’t be listening to the next book in the series...

Great twist to the usual Regency story

This is the first time we dont have the woman seen as the paragon of virtue that the scoundrel husband has to bow down to so that he can prove he is worthy. Also the drama doesn't feel so forced and overwhelming in this story it flows naturally..
