A wonderful short story

A great short story superbly narrated by Aoife McMahon. Likeable main character and well assembled story, but it is the magnificent narration that sets these books apart.

Easy listening.

Nice introduction to Cormac Reilly. Easy to listen to novella. Kinda predictable, but that's okay.

Very snappy

Great little insight into Cormacs past and a view to his development 👍🏼 Another longer novel would be great

Enjoyable short detective story

I found this an engrossing listen & was pleased to have something I could get through in a couple of sittings.
Based on the previous reviews I was expecting more of a twist in the tale - but never the less felt satisfied with the ending.
Not as much of a “thriller”as I had anticipated.
Reader did a great job of inhabiting the central character - but then, I do love an Irish accent!

Fairly predictable. I prefer the novels

This was a reasonable listen but lacked the complexity of plot and character provided by a longer work. Having said that, I WILL read the next novel in the series if and when it appears.

Has that Wow factor.

Loved the character. Following her days as she tries to keep it alltogether firstly aline then thinking she has support. Boom bang Wow it turns on its head.

Fast paced and intriguing

This is another of Dervla’s clever and intriguing stories, it draws you in and keeps your heart beating at 100 miles an hour wondering and guessing at what will happen next.
Beautifully told in that fascinating Irish accent by Aoife McMahon. A good on the edge of your seat read.

Interesting story line

I enjoyed the book. I know it was only a novella, but the ending kind of left you hanging. It resolved in a hurry leaving you with questions. I adored the narrator's lilting Irish tones.

Great author and narrator

I have listened to all of the Cormack O’Reilly series and have thoroughly enjoyed both the storylines and the narration. I would recommend this series to anyone who loves crime fiction!
