Another story that expertly weaves history & fiction. Also such a unique celebration of the strength of women. My uncle ran away to join the circus around this time in Australia so this was particularly interesting. The narrator of these books is exceptionally talented. In this book she was particularly good at creating the different characters with the different voices she used.

Very touching book of triumph over hardships ,0f things being what they are not, of the excitement of the circus and the deception of the eyes.Edwina Wren brings an extra element of enjoyment to this book.Thank you Jackie French l so love your Writing
