1920. The Great War has been over for two years, and it has left a very different world from the Edwardian certainties of 1914. Following the death of his wife and baby and his experiences on the Western Front, Laurence Bartram has become something of a recluse. Interesting story set after World War One. Kept me listening keenly. Well written book with an excellent performance by reader. I will look for more books by author and/or reader.

I had to stop listening to this well written book as the central incident, revisited again and again within the story, was just so disturbing and depressing.
