I love this story

But I wish it wasn’t abridged. Is there an audio version unabridged? The story of Fezzick’s childhood is missing!

Favourite book ever... well, parts of it

The Princess Bride had been my favourite book for 20+ years ago I was thrilled to discover another way to connect with it. I didn't realise it was abridged, I should have checked! Everytime something was skipped from the story, it must made me sadder. Hopefully a complete version will be released one day.

It's a kissing book.

The Movie really does create a wonderful portrayal of the characters, and the passion for the story is expressed so well by this reading. You really can hear the passion Rob Reiner has for these characters, and tells the story brilliantly. Very much worth listening to.
If you haven't watched the movie, what are you waiting for!? Go watch it!
It's a special book, it's got fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, miracles... it's a wonderful story!!

Witty, endearing and Imaginative

The Princess Bride is so warm. Filled with loveable (and loathsome) characters. Narration brilliant. A perfect way to spend a couple of hours

Epic Story - but Reiners reading leaves a lot to be desired

An epic tale, fascinating from start to finish, however Reiner does a better job at directing the movie adaptation than he does reading it

Sigh!

This is a great version of the story. The narrator is fantastic and the recording is lovely. But the story. The story! This does not hold a candle to the greatest movie of my childhood. I wept tears of frustration at certain bits.

Enjoyed it but one mistake

There is a skip during the end talk between Westly and the prince. Besides that, it was a good abridged version.

Thoroughly enjoyed

Much better than the film adaptation. The moment he met his father’s killer. The moment of vengeance!
