About this listen

In the shadows and flames, Primals will fall…

And from the blood and ash, new gods will rise.

What was dreamt.

Poppy was never meant to awaken, and the consequences are devastating and far-reaching, stirring ancient powers from their slumber and transforming Casteel and Kieran in ways even the Fates couldn’t have foreseen. But what that means is the least of their concerns. For now.

What was foreseen.

The Blood Crown has fallen, but what has risen is a far greater danger than they’ve ever faced. From flesh and fire, the Great Conspirator has returned to the mortal realm, and he wants only one thing. They must stop the true Primal of Death before he regains his strength, and it won’t be easy. Even weakened, his influence is undeniable. His power, unthinkable.

Has come to be.

While the future of the realms rests upon them, they won’t stand alone. The gods have awakened—each harboring their own blood-soaked secrets. But they must navigate an unbalanced realm, where every choice—past and present—has the potential to not only undo everything they’ve fought for but also destroy the very bonds that have Joined them together.

For the Harbinger and the Bringer of Death and Destruction has risen.

So dissapointrd as these two series have been my fave romantasies! I found the dialogue to be on the whole infantilising, patronising and chauvinistic from the MMCs in such an infuriating way - I fast forwarded the spice because I was so put off by the characters. I love Stina Nielson narrating though and will listen to all her work!

Poorer, bloated writing.

I love this series so much.
I really enjoy the narrator's voice who reads for Poppy I also think she does male voices pretty well I am not liking this new man's voice at all I'm pushing through because I can't wait to get to poppies chapters.
other than that it is a great series that I will read them time and time again.

The series so far has been a fabulous read, but this book feels quite different. The writing feels bloated and disconnected. Leaves off on a cliff hanger, so I hope JLA returns to her usual witing style.

this book smacked of yhe publishers pressuring the author to pump out the next book in the series. its was excessively drawn out in places because the plot was so scattered and seemed yo be being made up of far-flung shoe ideas, all cobbled together with the main characters asking questions yo justify the UN believable plit changes.

veered off randomly

It dragged on for too long and had too many useless conversations that didn’t need to happen. Could have easily been a 12 hour book instead of 40 hours, or keep it that long but make it the last book. Cas was incredibly annoying to the point where I wanted him to be killed off. Didn’t particularly enjoy the last book and definitely did not enjoy this one.
Will I still listen to the next one…yes. Only because I’ve already invested so much time to not know how it ends.

Too long

Was disappointed this wasn't the final book (especially after the last one just felt mostly like a repeat from another perspective), felt like it was really long and not much happened, alot of conversation and not much action.

too long, not much happened

I was so excited for this book - Ready for action packed scenes, answers to questions and at least one massive fight but I was disappointed, it was full of fluff. Honestly, a miscommunication trope? We deserve better than that. It's such a great series, it makes it so much more painful in this waste of time book.

Filler book in this series

absolutely loved her serious but this one felt so hostile until the very end and as if it was an very long couple fight that only gets partly resolved in the end, need the next book to make me love the main characters again

speechless
