Publisher's Summary

He didn't kiss me back like a gentleman. No, Derek Price slammed my back into the front door. A beast off his leash.

Emily Stanton's perfect life just became a disaster. She has a trust fund brother looking for a handout, a father who is more board member than dad, and a mother who thinks she should give up on this whole billionaire CEO thing and meet a man with a pre-nup and a yacht.

Oh, and then there's that "misunderstanding" with law enforcement witnessed by Miami's paparazzi. Now her billion-dollar deal is on the line, and there's a naked man in her bathtub who claims he's going to make all her problems disappear.

Charming - and happy to bend the rules when necessary - Derek Price has made a living polishing the tarnished images of the rich and famous. He's never lost, and he never takes clients to bed. Until the dazzling Emily. Derek promised her a win and offered up a lifetime supply of orgasms as part of the deal. But if he can't stop her enemies, he'll end up losing much more than he bargained for.

Author Notes: An enemies-to-allies-to-lovers workplace romcom with a meet-nude, four lady billionaire BFFs, a hero whose many talents include styling hair and picking pockets, the best dang drag queen brunch in Miami, and a shameless romance novelist cameo.

A Lucy Score Story ruined by Narration

The narration was smarmy, by both narrators. Made me cringe at their efforts to be what? Funny? Sexy? Wealthy? They just over-acted every sentence. His female voice was insulting to strong women. I like this author, bit didn't get past 3 chapters and I left the room for one.

Just so cringeworthy

I was in the verge of quitting this one sooooo many times. I am actually embarrassed that I kept listening Derek is such an a-hole in the beginning and Emily is a doormat. Not a fan of Stephen Dexter but this narration was particularly bad. Terrible brutish accent, truly unlistenable. The last. Quarter of the book where he transforms into a good guy hero is so overwrought I was either rolling my eyes or cringing when he narrated. His narration made some of the sexy scenes awkward to listen to. Besides his narration the story was choppy with what seemed like gratuitous scenes with her girlfriends and neighbors. Too over the top to be entertaining. On the good side- I loved Jane. She was the best thing about the book and I might try a story featuring her. I will not read on to hear about Daisy and Luna. Both were obnoxious and the voice and character of Luna was hard to take. I have really like other Lucy Score listens even though I wish she would’ve emplacement Stephen. Won’t finish this series but may try something else by her.

Someone Should Have Told Me!

Lucy Score and her books are some kind of wonderful! This is only my third book (OK, IN A WEEK) by Lucy and I must admit, I’m auddicted! My ears tingle just knowing I’ve secured another crazy good book by my new favorite author. This entire cast of characters (even the menagerie of animals) was wonderful and I can’t recommend The Price of Scandal or Lucy Score more.

Just Okay

It took me awhile to get into this book because it it had so many lulls in the story. Some parts were boring and predictable bright side it did have some funny bits :-) . The audible performance was pretty decent.

The Price of Scandal

Audio: Stephen Dexter is already in my top favorites so there was no was that I wasn't going to love the narration. In duo with Natalie Duke, the performance was amazing. Such a great job! Story: I’ve never met a Lucy score book I didn’t love and this one is no exception. From the first time you meet Emily you know that her life isn’t as glamorous as it seems from the outside, and from the first meet with Derek you know he’s going to be a handful. This book is hilarious from the three legged crocodile to the vulgar parrot I couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series you’ve got to love the fictional towns/ residences that Lucy(and her writing buddies) creates and the characters that’s fill them.

Fabulous!

This was fantastic. Hands down. Derek Price is the most perfect catnip of a hero and the end involves some of the best comeuppance in a book ever. Two thumbs up and a double squee cannon salute!

Very funny

Being English, Stephen Dexters accent took a few chapters to get used too, but I am glad I stuck with it. Great fun.
