huh

It sounded like a TV commercial, there is enormous amount of repetition used to describe and define a single thing.

Self-talk classic sold short

Ive read this book at least 6 times over 20 years. I adore it. The contents mean a lot to me - because they have improved my life in so many ways. My hopes were very high for this absolute classic of what to say when you self-talk. Maybe I was expecting too much - because ultimately, I was disappointed. I found the narrator Jason McCoy did not understand what he was reading. Even though he is an experienced speaker, he in-correctly pronounced many names and spoke far too rapidly; even nervously. I feel that this information needs far more CARE with its contents. There was no love in Jason's voice. He just sounded as though he wanted to get the whole exercise over and done as soon as possible.

This is a terrible audio book

In at least three cases the speaker does not know the material #EXAMPLE, when referring to Sigmund Frued of Austria the speaker said "Sigmund Freed of AUSTRALIA"
I think a computer does the speaking as its choppy and the voice inflection and rythem is off. Do not buy this book.

So Many Mispronounced Words!!

This was basically good and it had a lot of good content. But, I could not get past all of the mispronounced words. I wish I could remember them all....but Socrates was pronounced as So Crates and VanGogh was VanGoo. There were times when I had no idea what the Narrator was talking about until I realized it was a simple word that was not correctly pronounced.
I'm just amazed that there wasn't some type of proof-listening (?) is that a word?...LOL Also amazed that everyone else who reviewed this didn't complain as well....makes me wonder if the reviews are accurate??

The narration is unbearable

What disappointed you about The Power of Your Subconscious Mind?

The narration gets in the way of the content. The man should be selling used cars instead of narrating books on personal development. Totally irritating - it is read way too fast without any expression, light or shade.

How could the performance have been better?

Chosen a different narrator

What character would you cut from The Power of Your Subconscious Mind?

The narrator

The Power of Your Subconscious Mind

The narrator mispronounces every other word which is extremely frustrating and distracting. Can't the person reading the book look words up in the dictionary?

Great content, poor performance.

If you could sum up The Power of Your Subconscious Mind in three words, what would they be?

Need to know.

Would you be willing to try another one of Jason McCoy’s performances?

No

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No.

Any additional comments?

Joseph Murphy's work is a treasure but the reader detracted from the content. The reader should pause long enough to know that a topic has ended and is transitioning. There should be a space between sentences to allow for the meaning to register but there was just no stopping. The tone is obviously forced and has a false enthusiasm.I do not enjoy criticizing and hope that the above is constructive only.

Buy the other version

The person reading this is reading too fast. He sounds like he is reading fast so he can go to the bathroom. He also can not pronounce words correctly. These issues ruin the recording of a very good book. I could not overlook these issues. I am upset because I have read this book many times and wanted a version to listen to during my long drive to work.

FANTASTIC!!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I recommend this book to everyone breathing. It is easy to follow and makes good sense. I do love Dr Murphy but he gets a bit more religous in his other books, not so much in this one. Get it as soon as you can :-)

What does Jason McCoy bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He does do some explaining in areas that some may find helpful

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

My understanding went to another level.

What a robotic voice !!!

Sad that such a classic and brilliant book (which I have in paper form) has been read here by someone who hasn't a clue on how to read in an interesting and non-robotic manner.

I truly wonder whether he is out to just get through it whilst trying to mimic a machine....

A bit daunting but worth reading it once

I was skeptical about this book at first. The only reason i bought it cos iam interested to know more about the sub conscious mind.I read few reviews on amazon about the title and decided to buy. The opening few chapters are bit daunting and reminded me of "the power of positive thinking" by Norman vincent peale. In heinsight book is worth reading it rather listening it unless you are making notes. T

Can't Concentrate Due To The Robot Reading It

Would you try another book written by Joseph Murphy or narrated by Jason McCoy?

Yes

What did you like best about this story?

Didn't finish it due to the robotic voice of the narrator

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I couldnt focus on the content due to his robotic voice

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Disappointed at this audio due to the narrators robotic voice - just awful, kept thinking I had hit 1.5 x speed but no that just how fast he spoke!!

Any additional comments?

I will buy the book though as I've heard great things about it but please change the audio!!!!

Terrible narrator

I downloaded this as my first free audible book and thought Audible is just not for me. I only listened to maybe 20mins because I had to rewind and rewind because I couldn’t focus on the content.

I thought maybe audible books just aren’t for me and left it at that. Now, I tried two more books I had to read for a course and it was more convenient to listen to it when on the road. Turns out the other books were great to listen to.

Just tried to listen to this again thinking I may enjoy it now but narrator reads in a very hectic manner. Makes me feel uncomfortable and irritated. I can’t listen to him. No idea if the content is any good!
