Lots of story

The story cover several people and at times you will love them, hate them and totally be confused by them and their choices, Well worth a read (listen) .

Not her best

I am a fan of Menna Van Praag and I enjoy her whimsical style and sympathetic characters. This one, however, was a bit lacking. The storyline was tedious in places and two of the characters, Viola and Hugo, were very difficult to like. The relationships were clunky and tortuous and it just never got into the easy flow of her other novels. It was a struggle to finish.
