Another Great Adventure

This series just keeps getting better. With the introduction of new characters and the development of others. Simon Vance is a brilliant narrator who brings this story to life! You won’t be disappointed.

Interesting magic system. Unimaginative usage

I've been struggling with the lack of creative uses of the magic in the series. There's so much potential in the ways they can use magic but they barely seem to go beyond the basic obvious paths.

They take the time to begin trying more with their magic in casting slingshot water spell but that bit of experimentation and the great use of wind and swordplay briefly mentioned are pretty much all we get of these imaginative possibilities.

There's so much potential wasted with such a unique magic system. As a musician myself, I absolutely love the idea of a music templated magic system. It just needs to be fleshed out more. The secondary characters need more individual style with their magic even if they're not inserted into as much of the plot as the main character (though Jon really does get into and deal with a lot of trouble alone that could involve more team play).

Besides the somewhat unimaginative use of the magic system, the story is solid, the action pretty lively, and the MC is likeable.

The relationship is mind numbingly frustrating

It's a great book with a good story Line and good character variations. But the "Romance" makes the MC feel like such a Beta male, it clashes with the cool persona that the the author wants us to see. The romance is made for a 13 year old chick flick drama.

More of Exactly What We Wanted.

I've loved the entire Oklar series for a number of reasons, but the pacing and consistent world building has remained impressive this entire time. Romances aren't ruining character developments, me characters aren't retconning existing characters, it's all just very well written. the trouble with fantasy series making their main character less and less likable as the series goes on just isn't an issue here, and it's very refreshing to be able to have trust and faith in the series, and B.T. Narro as an author.

more story telling needed.

i liked the story, it is pretty captivating but as I've already heard the other books i felt too much of the story time was was taken up reflecting on past events.

A good 3rd instalment

I've enjoyed listening to all 3 books in this series, but felt I had to deduct a star because of the use of contemporary swear words. Call me old fashioned, if you like, but I much prefer my fantasy adventurers to use more imaginative profanities, like in all the bastial series. When do we get audiobook 4?

Brilliant !

Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Probably the best novel so far in this series. I really enjoy the creative aspect with use of magic - I have never read any thing like it before. On to the next volume.
A wonderful narrator - he really makes the story " live. "

Overall story good but drags a bit..

Really enjoyed the 3 books and the way the characters and their magic skills have evolved. However i do feel the story itself takes too long to get going. Looking forward to book 4 as getting to the good bits now!

awsome

Just finished the three books in this series, what a fantastic set of novels these have been, thoroughly enjoyed them. Why have Audible not published book 4 The Roots of Wrath which we need to have to continue the series. B T Narro is currently working on book 5 also.
