Story
In Everything Is Spiritual, author Rob Bell explores how ideas about creation, love and connection shaped him and how they shape every one of us. Bell observes that more than anything, people want to understand their purpose here on earth. And when you embrace who and where you come from, including your wounds, your pains and your regrets, you will discover that lurking there in the mess of life is an invitation to expand - just as the universe has been expanding for 13 billion years.

Story
Whether our notions of "God" are personal projections or inherited traditions, author and theologian Brad Jersak proposes a radical reassessment, arguing for a more Christlike God and a more beautiful Gospel. A More Christlike God suggests that such a God would be very good news indeed - a God who Jesus "unwrathed" from dead religion, a love that is always toward us, and a grace that pours into this suffering world through willing, human partners.

Story
What are we supposed to think about the coronavirus crisis? Some people think they know: ‘This is a sign of the End,’ they say. ‘It’s all predicted in the book of Revelation.’ Others disagree but are equally clear: ‘This is a call to repent. God is judging the world and through this disease he’s telling us to change.’ Some join in the chorus of blame and condemnation: ‘It’s the fault of the Chinese, the government, the World Health Organisation...’ Tom Wright examines these reactions to the virus and finds them wanting.

In this definitive biography, renowned Bible scholar, Anglican bishop, and best-selling author N. T. Wright offers a radical look at the apostle Paul, illuminating the humanity and remarkable achievements of this intellectual who invented Christian theology - transforming a faith and changing the world. For centuries, Paul, the apostle who "saw the light on the Road to Damascus" and made a miraculous conversion from zealous Pharisee persecutor to devoted follower of Christ, has been one of the church's most widely cited saints.

a little underwhelming
I was expecting more after reading other young and jersak books Might be better to read this in book form as the voice actors take away from the story. The voice for the character who represents Jesus was really frustrating. if you're new to trinitarian thinking this might be great, but no ground breaking themes for me personally.

Intense
Thankfully I listened to Brad Jersak and Paul Youngs review of this story and I understand the message that was being conveyed . The story as performed by the readers was excellent. However, for me it was too intense enough so it left me with a couple of nightmares. I'm spiritually sensitive anyway, and the darkness that was portrayed affected me. I love Brad Jersak and Paul Youngs books and testimony. The good they are doing in the area of healing the brokeness of so many is so needed . Hopefully others will find truth and healing in this story and won't be negatively impacted by the intensity of the spiritual darkness that is being confronted.

A Phenomenal Parable Poorly Performed
This is one of my favorite books I've read this year, but I really wish I had read the hardcover instead. I'm not sure if it was the voice direction, the voice actors or both; but the resulting performances by the cast range between underacting and going way overboard. The Pastor himself is mostly passable except in the more weepy moments; but many of the others left a lot to be desired. Now the problem is not the voice cast approach, in fact the story is perfect material for an audio drama or a stage play even. This story deserves a really good production, and I was excited to hear the story be not only read but acted, Unfortunately, the execution did not deliver as I hoped. So please read the book! But do yourself a favor and get a physical copy.

Wow!
Wow! This book was powerful! This is a very well written, honest, and therefore intense story of what seems at first an extreme situation of a pastor’s mental breakdown, but as it goes on the listener or reader surprisingly begins to recognize themselves - like it or not - in the pastor. This book is medicine for the soul that struggles with forgiveness or religion or personal traumas or questions of faith in the goodness or not so goodness of God. In other words, it really is a book anyone can appreciate - that is as long as we are willing to hear the honest truth of another and possibly of ourselves. I listened to it rather than read it and the audible narration is fantastic. Not just one narrator but several in character so one so it really becomes an immersive experience.

A soul searching, heart wrenching redemption story.
This is the first audio book I have ever listened to. The voice performers are amazing, each one unique but so tru to character! I listened to this as I drove from Kamloops BC to Horseshoe Bay sometimes biting my nails sometimes fighting back tears. No matter where you are in relationship to God, this will speak to you. Prepare to be undone!

A very different style
I was quite shocked at the beginning and discovered in the style of the book. It is explicit and detailed in the events depicted. however, again shows us the story of a man who gains forgiveness grace and love by God.
