Publisher's Summary

From the pulpit at Westminster Chapel in London, Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones set a new standard for faithful and passionate preaching - a standard that continues to be relevant today. Lloyd-Jones was a physician by training and had begun a promising career in medicine before sensing an irresistible call to preach. Surrounded by theological liberalism, he began a pulpit ministry that would exert profound influence on both sides of the Atlantic.

A theological seminary w/o awards to brag about.

I praise God for making this audio book available to me. It has been a blessed experience.
I am a spanish street preacher and when I hear brother Lloyd's turning point was precisely when he heard a group of street preachers sharing the gospel with such passion and conviction gives me encouragement to proceed for though many reject there is still a remanent out there that God needs us to reach. Excellent.

Fluff

This is a very short and very repetitive read. If you subtract the lauding of Lloyd-Jones (which he would have despised), the remaining book would take half an hour (tops) to get through. Most of the remaining is defining of doctrines that anyone interested in Lloyd-Jones would already know.

Description and title misleading

I thought this was going to be some of his teachings from the pulpit. It's a biography. Waste of money. Wish I could request a refund.

Titus 2:14

There were so many takeaways, outside of my disagreement with the calvinistic view; regardless of your stance, Martyn Lloyd Jones is inspirational.

most excellent book

I found the reader of the book to be quite pleasant to listen to. He was not simply reading in a dry mechanical way, but as one who was conveying an important message. The story provided many insights into Dr. Jones and his ministry. I have found it to be inspirational for my own ministry.

Audio File Does NOT Work

Martyn Lloyd Jones is probably one of the best preachers of his century, but this audio file from audible does not work. The file seems to be corrupted and I don't know how to contact Audible to resolve this issue because they make contacting them nearly impossible.

Very disappointing.
