Long, but I actually really liked it!
Any additional comments?
Okay, so this was a marathon book. 36hours or something. It was huge. But it didn't feel laborious. It was a good spin on an old idea about freaky vampire people, some classic hero/heroines and solid storytelling. That said, this is the only book in the series I liked and finished.

2nd time around
This is one of my favourite books and I enjoyed listening to it on Audible as much as I did reading it the first time. Really great narration and for such a long story nothing got lost by not actually holding at the book in my hand.

Good yarn but way too long
A good story with a promising start. Unfortunately there is so much unessessary waffle about the characters emotional states that it was hard to stick with it at times. Not sure I'll go back for the second book

Can't ask for anything more.....
Not my usual genre, but so glad I took the leap.
All I want is a book that can elicit truly emotional reactions for the people and/or what's happening to them. This story definitely achieved this!!
Loved that, even though the book was long, the story didn't get tedious or boring.
I wasn't sure about the narration at the start, but got used to it quickly.
Now to book II 😊

!! EPIC !!
This story takes a while to wind up, but when it has finally finished the winding you are rewarded for enduring through with characters that have unique identities within a story that has loads of depth.
At first I was a bit disappointed and impatient with the wind up, but now I have finished this book I cannot see any other way to paint the picture required.
I loved the story and have purchased the next story.
This is a truly epic story, with a huge timeline, and I can't wait to see where it all ends up.
