About this listen

The gripping new psychological thriller from top 10 best-selling author and award-winning journalist, Caroline Overington

Emma Cardwell is the top-rating host of a morning TV show, Cuppa, beloved by audiences and only occasionally stalked by crazy fans. She seems to have it all: fame, money, a gorgeous family, but then her tiny daughter disappears from day care, and Emma's entire life is turned on its head.

Is this a kidnapping, a product of her high profile, or is somebody out for revenge?

As the hours tick by and the pressure mounts, everything comes under scrutiny, including her own marriage, and Emma is forced to confront an aching question: Can we trust the ones we love?

Praise for Caroline Overington:

"Overington keeps you guessing until the last." (Daily Telegraph)

"Caroline Overington has an ability to home in on the darker, unsettling sides of life, seizing upon topics you might see headlining the news and spinning them into gripping page-turners." (Australian Women's Weekly)

The voice-over was so irritating. It would have been better with multiple voices not one trying to do them all. Especially the male parts.

Great story

Such a basic story stretched out over many hours. Didn't love it but I persisted.

This was an entertaining listen and I recommend it to others who like fast paced thrillers

A great Australian thriller!

I think the reader really didn't suit this story. It felt like this was an adult trying to read a story to a child. The reading tone did not suit the gravity of the chapters, which left one feeling like it was very hard to seriously. Which is a shame, as the plot is good.

The voice let the plot down.

Loved this Aussie masterpiece of a kidnap amidst TV celebrities that leaves you guessing to the literal last minutes. TERRIFIC!! Well performed.... a 5 star purchase.

A series of terrific twists.

Enjoyed the storyline and the narration. A great guess who, right to the end. Modern and interesting with trust being the optimum action. You never know what fame can do to someone, but this book is full of selfish career minded people.

Great read, recommend.

Another great story from Caroline

the narrator struggled with the kids voices; and the characters never evolved to the point where I cared about any of them. i think I finished it because it's set in australia and I am trying to support local talent.... but i wouldnt recommend.

not for me..
