I loved the story but not the narrator. She was too chirpy for this story.

Great story

I didn't like the narrater, she sounded as if it was all terribly funny. However, the story, after initially having dismissed it, was griping and left me guessing till the end. I certainly recommend.

I read a review before purchasing the book where the writer described the narrator as "play school story time" and boy were they right. She's good for the most part but she has a giggle in her voice at the most inappropriate times. Story was great though, had you guessing until the end!

Great story by the narrator is WAAYYYY to giggly.

The narrator who delivered this story made it almost impossible to listen to; an irritating performance that does the story no favours at all. The story is interesting, the writing could use a good edit but the listening to that voice was like choking on sponge cake.

A voice like a burr in your jumper....

I liked the story, the narration, it being between two countries and timezones. But it was too detailed, frustratingly so. It moved too slow for me.

Great idea for a story.

The narrator's voice uses too many changes in intonation every single word, and can hear her smiling as she speaks too frequently (and inappropriately/distractingly) throughout the story. The narrative itself was a convincing mystery, overlapping into drama rather than classical crime fiction. I enjoyed it, and would have enjoyed it far more if not irritated by the narrator trying too hard to create interest as she read.

great story, annoyingly "smiley" voice

I struggled with this book. The only reason I finished it was b/c we where doing it for bookgroup. My main issue was the way it was preformed. It was to over the top for me. She continually put emphasis on words / sentence that didn’t need it, and it made the experience quite unpleasant.
The story itself was pretty good.

The preformance let the story down.

I found this book a very good read. It had me guessing to the end and I didn’t see some things coming so was a good surprise. Loved it !!

Hard to stop listening

narrator sounded a bit more like narrating a play school story rather than a mystery, regardless, the story itself is still a great listen

good story but tricky narrator
