About this listen

Here's the first comprehensive strategic system for overcoming the causes and eliminating the effects of procrastination.

Here are techniques to help any busy person get more things done more quickly, without the anxiety and stress brought on by delay and pressing deadlines.

If you are a professional, manager, student, entrepreneur, writer, or homemaker, this audiobook will help you achieve your goals more rapidly, whether they are large, complex challenges or the small, essential tasks of everyday life and work. If you now work effectively, even though you have too much to do and too little time, The Now Habit will show you how to prioritize your goals to allow more time for guilt-free play.

Step by step, Neil Fiore, Ph.D. reveals numerous tested strategies for ridding your life of procrastination:

  • Use the symptoms of procrastination to trigger the cure
  • Overcome the perfectionism and fear of failure that lie behind procrastination
  • Benefit from making positive statements about work instead of sabotaging yourself with negative statements
  • Make your worry work for you
  • Use the "Unschedule" time-management techniques
  • Accomplish more in less time through efficient "flow state" work styles
  • Assist the procrastinators in your life in overcoming their problems

The Now Habit promises you the chance to truly enjoy guilt-free recreational time, knowing the work is really behind you.

It’s a good book, and gives you useful ideas. The issue is the sleepy, droning, meandering voice/cadence of the narrator. If you kick the speed up to 1.2 you won’t fall asleep.

Good content, but listen at 1.2x speed

The content of the book is excellent, but you need to play it at x1.25 speed on the audible app. That way the reader's cadence is a lot better. Slightly annoying and slow if you play it at normal speed. Book is great tho, I have picked up lots of tips and gained several insights.

Great book, but play it at x1.25 speed

Where does The Now Habit rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

It ranks high in content, but low in delivery. Because it offer something more useful and practical than what most people write about procrastination.

What other book might you compare The Now Habit to, and why?

It's a combination of "Power of Habit" and "Procrastination by Jame & Lenora, because it's mindful about neuroscience and how the brain works, and it's content is quite compelling, and useful.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Neil Fiore?

No. He speaks a bit like Christopher Walken.
He stops and.... pauses at.... awkward places, as if it's... his first... try in reading the.... script.
The only thing that made me keep going was the content.

If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

- Alternative and useful ways to beat procrastination.
- Beating procrastination without being nagged to "just do it"

Any additional comments?

Love the content. Hate the reader.

Great content, awkward delivery

Engaging to listen to, only criticism is that the recording isn't the greatest quality, a but too twangy and treblely.

Great advice and reading
