About this listen
Cutler Ryder was everything I wasn’t.
He was the hockey star. I was an outcast. He was best friends with my stepbrother, that same stepbrother who hated me. His two parents loved him. My mom was a junkie. My dad barely knew me.
Years passed. I got my life together. Cut went onto NHL stardom. Then there was a text.
I was drinking. There was a party. Cut was there....
I loved Cutler Ryder since the first moment I saw him.
The only problem? He never knew I existed.

There is a lot of real topics mentioned in this book including mental health issues, bad childhood & drug use. Shi’s story was heartbreaking. Imagine being a child struggling in your own head & having not one person want you. Seriously the first part of the book had me raging!!!! I was so angry at Shi’s father & Natasha for not doing everything in their power to help her. Shi herself was so loveable, smart, beautiful and selfless. She just needed to be loved.
I absolutely adored Cut. He was nothing short of amazing 100% of the time. He was completely devoted to Shi from the moment he notices her. He is so understanding and it was so beautiful to read. The car park scene 🥰 So much intensity & looovvveeeeee!
Shi & her 2 besties are seriously GOALS! I loved reading their escapades. I loved that Shi had so many people around her that cared so deeply for her which made up for her shitty excuse of a family.
I also loved that Hunter maintained as much of a relationship with Shi as he could despite the family members trying to keep him from her. Don’t get me started on FUCKING CHAD! I’ve never loathed a book character more then Chad. Seriously I just couldn’t deal with how horrible he was and he didn’t even have a good excuse’ It was the definition of ‘but I was told... or ‘but I thought...’ I was so glad he basically disappeared & seemingly lost everything good in his life even though he was sorry at the end.
Seriously this book is worth the read. I literally didn’t sleep last night so I could finish it 😅
Narrators nailed it like always. Love these two!
