About this listen

In the highly anticipated sequel to The Wolf King, this sizzling romantasy—perfect for fans of enemies to lovers, shifters, forbidden romance, villains you love to hate (or maybe just love!), and werewolves—Aurora is caught between powerful alphas as they fight for the Wolf Throne, all while darker forces begin to rise…

“Let me have you. Just once. Please.”

Aurora may have survived the Wolf King, but his bite marks her skin. In accordance with wolf law, that makes her his property. Now, he wants her back.

To beat him and take his throne, Aurora and Callum must form a dangerous alliance with one of the most feared Wolves in the Kingdom, Blake. He is their enemy, but he has entangled his life with Aurora’s—meaning she cannot harm him without forfeiting her own life.

As she fights to break their connection, she suspects Blake is keeping secrets about a dark power that rises in the north, and the unsettling nature of the bond between them. It seems there is a bigger game at play than who sits on the Wolf Throne—one that threatens both the Kingdom of Wolves, and the Kingdom of Men.

With her wolf awakening, enemies closing in, relationships tested, and secrets revealed—Aurora may be the only one who can stop an ancient evil from rising.

If she can figure out who to trust.

If she can figure out where she, and her heart, belong.

If she can stay alive.

enough little twists and turns to keep me curious and although our protagonist's prissy mask is somewhat grating, she is finding her grit. the lore development is tantalising and I'm hoping this is built upon in future titles. looking forward to the next instalment.

a quality romantasy

This book was better with Blake having his own male narrator but still having the female voice some of the male voices was so annoying and would take me out of the story. Why they didn’t have the male narrators voice ALL of the male characters dialogue is baffling. Hopefully by the time the third book is done they will rectify this because it really takes away from the experience. I really enjoyed the storyline even though I was able to guess all of the plot twists. They shouldn’t be able to advertise it as duet when it is not full duet.

Better narration then first book but still not full duet.

The choice of narrators the best, story plot was so good loved it. Recommend the listen. Blake 😍

I struggled with the first half of this book. The constant need to protect Aurora felt repetitive, and Callum’s obliviousness to her growing bond with Blake, especially after claiming her, was frustrating. Blake having his own POV helped me connect with him more, but both men felt way older than Aurora. Her sudden change of heart toward her awful brother felt inconsistent, and Callum's abrupt distrust in Aurora was out of character. The shared dreams between Aurora and Blake only added confusion, creating a false sense of closeness. Aurora's shift toward Blake seemed rooted more in Callum’s emotional absence than genuine chemistry. That said, I did grow to appreciate Blake’s loyalty and restraint, especially knowing they were mates. His final reveal as the Night Prince felt rushed, though hopefully more is explained in the next book. Overall, I’m torn, still love Callum, but Blake is definitely growing on me.
