NOT ALL the Navy Lark

Disappointed that after a couple of chapters it turned into something completely different. Also think I’ve listened to the episodes that were the Navy Lark on another compilation. Very disappointed.

A wonderful end to a brilliant comedy.

I honestly don't understand why so many of these reviews are negative... Yes, there are many little extras in between the episodes, but I didn't find that they detracted in any way from my enjoyment of the series. All of the episodes were included, and there was nothing missing. The description clearly states that “All 11 episodes of this, the final full series from 1976, are included alongside the 1977 Jubilee special and other bonus items”. Therefore, the added extras shouldn't have come as a surprise to anyone. The actors were fantastic as always, the audio quality was much improved from earlier series' which was to be expected, and the episodes were enjoyable.

Not very good and too much boring extras

The later series are not nearly as sharp or funny as the early ones, and depend far too much on speech impediments and gobbledygook for its laughs. Not funny at all. The humour has always been silly, and loaded with unsuitable attitudes, which are also perceived as funny in themselves; however this series veers to the tasteless in the jokes and also in the stories. In addition about half this compilation is additions, interviews etc, and of little interest. The description does not exactly make this evident.

Disappointing!

I love the Navy Lark despise it being recorded so long ago it is still hilarious! I was expecting a full set of programmes but at least half is other programmes and interviews. Some of the interviews are interesting but the programme at chapter 15 appears to have no relation at all to the Navy Lark! Maybe this should be retitled so as not to confuse and disappoint!
