Publisher's Summary

A brand-new Stephanie King novel, from the best-selling queen of psychological thrillers.

A year ago today, we all gathered for Lucas' wedding at his glorious Cornish home overlooking the sea.

But no one was married that day.

Now Lucas has invited us back to celebrate the anniversary. But the anniversary of what? The wedding that never happened, or the tragedy that occurred just hours before the ceremony was due to begin?

He's told us that tonight he has planned a game. We have our costumes, we have our parts, and everyone must play. The game, he tells us, is about to begin.

What does Lucas want from us? What are we not being told? And what's going to happen when this terrible game is over?

Great yarn

I did enjoy this. The narrator Olivia has a terrific voice and she tells her story well. I’ve read quite a few of Rachel Abbott’s books and this one is a step up. Well done

Just really really... boring

I love all of Rachel Abbott’s books and I usually just can’t stop reading or listening. However this one really disappointed. Nothing really happened until chapter 12 and even then it was still boring. By the end I really didn’t care what the outcome was. I hate leaving a crappy review but this just wasn’t enjoyable for me

Very entertaining

I really enjoyed this. I’ve loved the DCI Tom Douglas series but the first book in this series I found a little disappointing. So this was a really welcome surprise. The narration was very good.

Disappointing and predictable

I really enjoy Rachel Abbott books but this one was quite poor. It was very predictable - the twist was evident very early on. And there were some highly unlikely scenarios together with very dubious police procedures. Disappointing.

Enjoyed the story, loved they were all together in one place. All that though & for what? bit confused at the end. Read quite well.

Too many characters to follow

Found the story quite boring and it was hard to follow. I’ve loved most of Rachel Abbotts books but this one just wasn’t for me
