Publisher's Summary
When people try to find out what philosophy is about, they turn to academia; and when they look at academic philosophers, the picture of philosophy they get is the exact opposite of the truth. When one looks at the work of almost all, if not all, philosophy professors, one sees people responding in artificial ways to artificial problems; and they see people looking for ways to tear down other people’s attempts to find answers to questions, instead of trying to work with those attempts or, at the very least, coming up with ways of their own of answering those questions.
