About this listen
In the sunny town of Redlands, three furry monster siblings prepare for a brand-new school year. Dominick, the tall, cool blue monster, is starting tenth grade at Citrus Valley High School. Josiah, bright red with twisty horns, begins sixth grade online with K12 CAVA, while his younger sister Alana, a cheerful pink monster with smaller horns, enters fifth grade through the same online program. After a summer of swimming, ice cream, and fun, the monsters trade vacation days for alarm clocks, sharpened pencils, and fresh school supplies.
Each monster tackles their morning differently. Dominick packs a hearty lunch in his blue monster lunchbox before heading to high school, Josiah logs into his first Zoom class, and Alana prepares colorful flashcards. Dominick’s day is filled with friends, new hallways, club activities, and running track under the autumn sun. Meanwhile, Josiah and Alana stay home, working through math problems, spelling lists, and reading assignments. Their mom brings monster-sized fruit snacks, which they devour between lessons.
When the school day ends, the siblings reunite to share stories of their very different learning adventures, Dominick’s bustling in-person experiences and Josiah and Alana’s productive online lessons. Through it all, they discover that whether in a crowded school hallway or a quiet home classroom, learning can flourish anywhere.
The story celebrates the joy of education, the value of adaptability, and the excitement of finding your own way to make each school day bright, happy, and full of possibilities.
