Great leadership concepts
The highlight and resonating take away was the case study of how leaders who don't have knowledge of the whole situation on the ground need shouldn't make decisions base on there high level narrow view. True leaders will empower and trust the leaders who have the context give you the options based on real-time and broadest perspective.

Thank you for your service and wisdom
Very interesting perspective on Afghanistan and the American military machine. I am grateful to leaders like Pete Blaber who care about their troops and appreciate the value of the frontline experience. He does a nice job of highlighting the inevitable realities, inefficiencies and political challenges in leading in large bureaucratic organisations. He also wraps up some nice life lessons for us all to consider. I would have liked a little more detail about key battles such as Takur Ghar, there was definitely a lot more to that story that the author could have covered. Overall a good story and different perspective on the war on terror.
