Publisher's Summary

Patricia Fisher is about to find out that 52 is the perfect age for an adventure!

When her life is unexpectedly turned upside down, ginaholic housewife, Patricia, doesn’t react as most would. Instead, she empties the bank accounts and jumps on the first cruise ship available - it just happens to be the world’s largest and finest, the Aurelia.

Less than 24 hours later, the world throws her the next curveball and so begins a race against time to prove she’s not a killer.

She has help though:
Her butler - his perfect Downton Abbey accent and penchant for folding napkins correctly should be enormously helpful!
A pretty gym instructor - can balanced nutrition and perfect abs keep Patricia out of jail?

Her chances don’t look great, but in our most testing times, we truly find our inner strength. Join Patricia Fisher as she learns that you are never beyond discovering a new version of yourself. The world will always look a little different once you have seen it through Patricia’s eyes.

Entertaining read

This is a light fun read, with charming likeable characters and a fun story, it's funny with a mystery added in. don't expect a clever plot or complex characters as this has none, but is an enjoyable, funny and easy story to relax and enjoy.

Lots of fun with murder!

Steve Higgs has another winner! Laugh yourself silly while glued to the story and the suspense. Incredibly funny dialog with characters who truly are. Plot revolves around Mrs Fisher, a fiftysomething ordinary lady with a not unheard of problem. But her response to that problem is to book an around the world cruise in the finest suite on the grandest cruise ship. She even gets her very own butler! But the next morning it's all gone horribly wrong and she is accused of murder and has to solve it against all odds. Great fun!
Stevie Zimmerman is fantastic as the narrator who manages the equivalent of a straight face!

lightheaded romp

The plot line veered into a tale so unrealistically silly it strained even my credulity, and I am a reader happy to escape into almost any story. But just when i considered stopping, I got hooked. The narrator is very good. And overall, i enjoyed the audiobook. it had a great message in the end.

Everything ties together

There's a certain joy in reading or listening to a story as nicely plotted and well written as this one. That it also deals with aspects of trust and personal growth without those themes overwhelming the flow of the story only increases enjoyment.

Enjoyable mystery

This is the start of The Patricia Fisher mysteries. Patricia finds out her husband is cheating on her with her best friend so she empties the bank account and goes on a world cruise. She is immediately implicated in a murder and must find the killer with the help of her new friends to clear her name. Looking forward to listening to the next story.

What a remarkable cruise

The Missing Sapphire of Zangiabar is a wonderful adventure. Steve Higgs writes fun characters with fun characters. This is book 1 in The Patricia Fisher Mystery series. The narrator is Stevie Zimmerman and her performance is amazing! If you enjoy clean romance with a touch of mystery, this is the book for you. I received an arc for my honest review.

Really fun series, good narration, unique setting

I am enjoying this series a ton (read book 3 first and have now gone back and read books 1--this one--and 2). I am glad, though, that I didn't read book 1 first because I might have given up and that would have been a shame. That is because I a, not a fan of "false accusation" books and that is what this one is. But it turns out well and the trip to the end was worth it for sure!

The setting is unique, and the surrounding characters are enjoyable and make you want to see them again.

Narration is good, though accents are a little uneven, but not enough to take away from the enjoyment,

Too silly for me

The plot is silly, ridiculous, and unbelievable. If these qualities don't bother you, you may enjoy this book. I couldn't get beyond the absurdity of the plot, although the setting on a cruise ship could have been appealing. The narrator is top quality and carried the story in spite of its weaknesses. She couldn't quite redeem the book for me, however.

Fantastic introduction to the series!

I'd been reading the books out of order but they are still wonderful as a stand alone read. But this one starts off the Patricia Fisher books and explains how our wonderful sleuth became a sleuth. Her bravery and quirks are very endearing, as aren't we all a bit hesitant to jump into the deep end of the pool for the very first time taking a swim? Loved every minute of it!
The narrator holds the listener enthralled as she moves unerringly through each character, carrying you along for the ride so you never wonder who is actually speaking in the storyline. Well done!
