Story
As the third wave of the virus hits, all inhabitants of Melbourne are given until 8pm to get to their homes. Wherever they are when the curfew hits, they must live for four weeks and stay within a 5km radius. When Lou’s son Samuel doesn’t arrive home by nightfall she begins to panic. He doesn’t answer his phone. He doesn’t message. His social media channels are inactive. Lou is out of her mind with worry, but she can’t go to the police, because she has secrets of her own. Secrets that Samuel just can’t find out about. Lou must find her son herself and bring him home.

Story
1987: It's late summer and a time of change when a 17-year-old girl leaves the local shopping center in the sleepy town of Lowbridge and is never seen again. Her unsolved disappearance is never far from the town's memory. There's those who grew up in the shadow of her loss whose own lives were altered forever, and those who know more than they're saying. It just takes an outsider to ask the right questions.

Story
Natalie and Neil everything they could want: a stylish London house, two high-flying careers, a close-knit group of friends and family. And best of all: an ideal marriage. Having children, they’ve agreed, would only disrupt their carefree lives. But then Neil turns thirty-five, and suddenly he’s longing for a baby. However, Nat has not had a similar change of heart. As they no longer agree on this fundamental issue, their once perfect relationship starts to crumble. Nat starts to think about her exes and wonders if one of the men she has loved in the past can offer her a future.

Very enjoyable
An entertaining, at times gripping, story with very real, believable characters. Narration of Sophie was excellent but Dee and Jasmine were questionable. Overall I really enjoyed it.

Very Moriarty like
I downloaded this book because it was recommended by Liane Moriarty. I can see why she recommended it. The format is very similar to her books. The many characters intertwined. The anticipated climax of the crux of the story. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I found myself completely sympathetic to some characters, frustrated by some, and strongly wishing for karma for others.
The only reason I gave the 4 stars for performance was due to the annoying narration by Dee and Jasmine.
I'm now on the lookout for the next novel by B.M.Carroll

Clunky narration
For me the narration really got in the way of this story. There were very few voices I enjoyed, or moved naturally with the story. I may have enjoyed the book more if I’d read it - but I’ll never know.
