A Highschool Promise

Shalini Boland does it again! Saskia Maarleveld was flawless and magnificent.
Anna has a problem..but it isn't Will...Flint is crazy but he is not alone...Shawn is nice but she is not the greatest friend for Anna to have?
This was an awesome Audiobook well worth your credit. You have to listen carefully to get what is really going on.I would say the model of the story is be careful of the friends you make... they could end up being friends or lack that of forever.

Predictable ending

This book held my attention until the last few chapters. It was intriguing until it became predictable and unrealistic. Most women wouldn’t put themselves into what are obviously dangerous situations. Nor would they do it twice (and while pregnant.) Doesn’t make sense. Disappointing. But worth listening to until the predictable end.

I love Shalini Boland books!

I liked the book a lot. The twist was one I truly did not see coming, and I've listed to enough psychological thrillers to guess the twist. Shalini did a good job of keeping the twist secret until just the right. moment.

What?

I don't mind implausible if it's entertaining. This was just ridiculous. The main character was a giant hot mess of weakness. Save credits or money.. They should pay you for reading this.

I really struggled with this book.

I could not finish this book. It was extremely irritating. I am not trying to be mean. Although the story had a good plot to it. The story also had a good twist to it. It was hard to sit through this book really. The narrator is also very good. But the main character is extremely gullable. The second main character is somewhat a bit too cold to believe. I didn't like it . But maybe you will. Like I said the plot was really good. The twist in the story was surprising. it made you want to listen to more. I really have mixed emotions about this book. I'm not being mean. But objective. Its a good effort. But it kind of fell short in some ways for me. overall I would grade this book a C. or C+. Thank you.

The Millionaire's Wife

I'm just not a fan of weak, wimpy main characters that never grow, learn or try to change. Well written by the author, interesting story.

The protagonist is so annoying!

I find it hard to fathom that a mother would first hide her child after being married to her true love and then not kill her child's kidnapper without thinking twice! Geez! What a wimpy character! I found myself wanting Will to leave her and pulling for Finn for gods sake.

Shalini Boland Rarely Disappoints

I've read several of Boland's books and I am not often disappointed in her stories. All of them are psychological thrillers and some are just better than others. The Millionaire's Wife was a good read and I got through it quickly. I was quite satisfied.

The Millionaire's wife was entirely implausible and so far out of the realm of something that might actually happen, but that's why I liked it so much.

A young girl falls madly in love with her boyfriend and decides to get a job and move in with him instead of going to college. The two of them have an unhealthy relationship and get a blinding reality when they find out that working menial jobs for minimum wage is not a great way to live. Boyfriend comes up with absurd ideas on how to make ends meet and they end up breaking up for several reasons. Cut to around seven years later and our young girl is a woman, married to a rich man in a happy relationship. But of course, her past comes to haunt her.

I listened to The Millionaire's Wife on the edge of my seat and I really liked it a lot. It was so silly at many times, but it made for a great thriller.

This one will be hard to beat, Ms. Boland, but I am looking forward to what's next.

Story drive by main character’s dumbness

Without the main character doing one really dumb thing after throughout the entire book there is no story at all.

Great read.

Any additional comments?

I really enjoyed The Millionaire's Wife. It has an unusual story line which is quite credible with plenty of unexpected twists.

Just awful!

I really don't understand why this book has such good ratings! Boring, unbelievable storyline. Characters are shallow and unbelievable. Plot is ridiculous. Gave up near the end when I realised it was only going to get worse. What a waste of my time and money. Alot of these reviews must be fake. Also, the male voices were just awful, almost comical.

Hard to listen to

The narrator made this difficult to listen to. Had to really force myself to get to the end. Would have liked to stopped listening but I don’t often give up on things. Not one of my best choices
