Suspense, mystery, drama, folklore and magic. Absolutely what you would expect from a Lucy Foley novel, only just better. I pre-ordered this and listened in one weekend. Dark story that hints at supernatural and magical themes,, intertwining stories, great job at creating complex characters, and genuinely interesting surprises at the end. If you like Foleys other work, you will not be disappointed.

This book would make an incredible movie. I could see it all playing out in my mind, in vivid technicolour settings and tangible, real characters. recall multiple instances when I said ‘oh my god’ out loud, which is rare for me - despite how much thriller content I consume. Someone get this a production company ASAP!

Incredibly Descriptive and Gripping Thriller

Lucy Foley is an expert at balancing the slow burn multiple character “POV’S” Suspense.

And what a pieces of work were the Meadows family, but especially Francesca Meadows.

A beautifully played out drama, set amongst the opening of in the swanky, ultra exclusive retreat,
The Manor, on the beautiful South Coast.

For Francesca, with all her peace and light, and positive energy, you would have thought she would have noticed the turmoil bubbling under the surface
Because, not everyone in the sleepy seaside town have forgotten her family.
Their and the arrogance and entitlement.
Especially when that arrogance lead to a two disappearances
