To solve an impossible murder, you need an impossible hero…

Seventy-seven-year-old Judith Potts is blissfully happy. She lives alone in a faded mansion in Marlow, sets crosswords for The Times, and there’s no man in her life to tell her what to do or how much whisky to drink.

One evening, while out swimming in the Thames, Judith witnesses a brutal murder. When the local police don’t believe her story, Judith and two unlikely friends decide to investigate for themselves. Together, they are the Marlow Murder Club.

But soon another body turns up, and it seems they have a real-life serial killer on their hands. Now the puzzle they set out to solve has become a trap from which they might never escape…

Lovely story about friendship and murder - with many a twist. Nice audio voice too - easy to listen to and follow

Easy listening

Great to listen to, compelling story. However, the conclusion jumps the shark from Chapter 32 onwards to the point that it spoilt a great book. I had the feeling the author tried to make the ending too neat, which resulted in a fanciful and laughable end to an otherwise gripping and mysterious adventure.

Decent story, amateur ending

Nice little story but a bit too predictable and obvious.
Characters were nicely done though

The narrator was fantastic but the story lacked depth

Eh. It’s okay? Predicted the ending. Some parts felt a bit silly. But some bits charming.

Okay, not mind blowing

Narrator really bought this one to life. She was fun to listen to and made it easy to listen as I drove.
A silly light-hearted murder mystery. A very cliches about older women that were a bit grating. But otherwise an easy going tale.

Great Narrator for light hearted tale
