I’m not sure if the narrative was lacking or the narration. It was predictable, a little boring and lacking complexity. Unlikely I’ll read the others in the series.

Loved the storyline, every part of it. This is the fastest I've gotten through a book in a couple of years. Looking forward to listening to the next one and when the rest of the series is released.

I mean, I enjoyed the story until the villains were suddenly Russians. In a fantasy world? Really? They could be some made up nation/race/etc. With Russian heritage, I feel like it's offensive and unnecessary. DNF at 50%, only because of that.

WHY oh WHY are villains always Russians? Even in fantasy? So cliché!
