A Wolf without a bite
What a lovely character is Ulf, the kind, thoughtful detective whose task is to be sensitive. In fact, he observes, Sweden is the only country with a department of sensitive crimes. Ulf is patient and rarely succumbs to frustrations. And, because the love of his life is married, he’ll never have her. But perhaps he’ll find a way to be happy. A delight — as only this author can be.

A book that warm my heart
The book was superbly written and narrated. It made me laugh out loud, it moved me with kindness. I feel my spirit is lifted by it. Thank you.

Absolutely perfect!
I can’t get enough of Ulf Varys- Beautifully written by Alexander McCall Smith, as always. And I can’t imagine any other narrator than Saul Reichlin to perfectly personify Ulf. A delight!
How will I ever wait until the next book is released??!

Sad that it finished!
I adore Alexander McCall Smith's work and this one was no exception! The narrator adds so much to the story. I can't wait for the next book.
