Publisher's Summary

Book 4 in the Eisenhorn series

Inquisitor Eisenhorn makes his triumphant return in a brand new novel, collected together with every one of the short stories starring the tortured servant of the Throne.

Listen to It Because:

It's a brand new Eisenhorn novel by Dan Abnett! What other reason do you need!

The Story:

Inquisitor Gregor Eisenhorn has spent his life stalking the darkest and most dangerous limits of the Imperium in pursuit of heresy and Chaos. But how long can a man walk that path without succumbing to the lure of the Warp? Is Eisenhorn still a champion of the Throne, or has he been seduced by the very evil that he hunts?

Warhammer 40,000’s most beloved anti-hero finally returns in a stunning new novel that pits him against his oldest and most constant foe, and forces him to confront the true darkness of his own self.

For the first time ever, the Black Library presents the definitive casebook of Gregor Eisenhorn, collecting all of Dan Abnett’s celebrated Inquisitor short stories into a single epic volume. The stories, some of which have never been in print before, have been compiled and introduced by the author to serve as an indispensable companion to the acclaimed Eisenhorn trilogy, and to act as an essential prologue to The Magos, a brand new, full-length Eisenhorn novel.

Outstanding!

A totally phenomenal story, a wonderful end to a fantastic series. Toby Longworth's Cherubael voice is the most sublime thing I've ever heard - every time he reads that role my hair stands on end and it is amazing! 110000/10 would read over and over again!

Exceeds Expectations

Small digestible shorts that culminated in a fanciful way to tell a grand life story.

Worth the read.

An adequate story. Tony Longworth is a prodigious narrator.
The dialogue suffers from the same problems as earlier books, though here the problem seems slightly magnified.
Some stretches of dialogue last almost a minute, back and forth, punctuated by “he said”, “she said” over and over.
Otherwise, an example of great world-building I’m glad I read.

Amazing

It's the best of the Eisenhorn series, and that's really saying something. Dan Abnett really outdid himself.

Story Good, Eisenhorn voice bad.

The typical Dan Abnett story. Always a pleasure.

The performance was good as well. The main gripe is the sudden change in Eisenhorn’s voice. Not sure why Toby would voice Eisenhorn one way for numerous books and then change to this iteration. I don’t know, it’s just weird.

TL;DR - I don’t like change

Toby Longworth

I could (and do) listen to this guy all day long. He really brings it to life. And Dan Abnett, creating such characters that are so full of life. I liked how the earlier stories were linked in some way.

Eisenhorns back!

I've always enjoyed Eisenhorns adventures but thought his solo stories were done. So I was very interested when I saw The Magos. And I was not disappointed. Good story with some familiar and some new characters. A wee bit drawn out towards the end but somewhat necessarily I suppose.
Great narration by Toby Longworth.
