About this listen

The second and most widely known in the series of the classic fantasy tales – The Chronicles of Narnia. Read by the unforgettable Sir Michael Hordern.

“This is the land of Narnia,” said the Faun, “where we are now. And you – you have come from the wild woods of the west?”
“I – I got in through the wardrobe in the spare room,” said Lucy.

Lucy steps into the Professor’s wardrobe – but steps out again into a snowy forest. She’s stumbled upon the magical world of Narnia, land of unicorns, centaurs, fauns… and the wicked White Witch, who terrorises all. Lucy soon realises that Narnia, and in particular Aslan, the great Lion, needs her help if the country’s creatures are ever going to be free again…

I really enjoyed the book but I don't understand why the audio book only has 2 chapters but the actual book has 17 chapters. honestly this is one of the best books that I have ever read/listened to. I am a big Harry Potter fan and have read all of the books and that big battle at the end was extremely similar to the battle of Hogwarts wich makes me wonder if C.S. Lewis got inspiration from that. Overall I loved the experience of listening to this book and am actually writing this review after my 4th time listening to the book and I only got it yesterday!

Not enough chapters

Surprisingly, there is a lot of horrid harp music over the top of the narration. It should be background music but it’s overpowering and makes listening with headphones impossible. Often the narration is hard to discern. The narration is excellent and characters are superb.

Irritating loud, unpleasant music

I wasn't able to hear the story. But at least now my nightmares have a soundtrack. It is not even the full book. Just don't do it.

Don't fall in the trap! I wasted my credit

Sir Michael Hordern, Oh wonderful. He is!
The thing that spoils this recording is that dreadful music. I didn’t mind as an introduction but PLEASE NOT when I want to listen to a story! I certainly would not give it to a child to listen too. I am very disappointed in this recording.

So disappointed
