Publisher's Summary

These survivors must confront the darkest secrets of their past....

Beaten, bloodied, and barely alive, the survivors of Black River’s cursed families have been cut off from their bloodlines for violating old traditions. But they continue their battle to end the evil of the Bell Witch and release the town from her reign of terror.

Pursued by the witch’s minions, the group takes shelter in the Leviathan, an abandoned opera house built a century ago. Its corridors exude supernatural power, and they soon discover that the haunted old building was designed for a very special purpose...to trap the Bell Witch within its walls.

But something else lurks within the ancient structure, something they never imagined in their darkest nightmares. And as the enemies close in, one of the survivors must risk their life in a devil’s bargain with this sinister presence.

Or none them will survive the night....

Different.

Werewolves, water witches, demons and leviathans!! This series definitely took a turn that I didn't see coming. Each character is nursing injuries but they still have to face demons etc in this to stay alive. I honestly don't know how they are still functioning!! Something is revealed to be true about Basheba that made me like her less but more intrigued about her upbring! I would love to see her backstory eventually. The plot took an interesting turn that makes me excited for the next one and I can't really say much more because there would be too many spoilers!! I will say it's another darkly disturbing action packed read though! While there's plenty of gore, it's more the spookiness of the plot that makes it so dark. A lot happens and there's no let up but it makes for such an awesome read. The narrator nails the performance. His tone and voices are impressive and he knows how to bring the atmosphere to life.

Watching someone play with plastic monster toys

These books stopped being horror in the last entry, which is honestly fine. Characters going through years of horror will become desensitized and will likely gain skills and become more proficient. However instead of embracing this fact this novel seeks to reassure you its still horror, while arming those same characters with, frankly, superpowers. However failure to acknowledge its own theme is a nitpick. The real problem is the character moments. This is the book were the characters have to sit down and talk about all the elephants in the room and it is uncomfortable to say the least. Not to mention the fact that the principle badass character has been reduced to a screaming child that you now realize shouldn't logically be actually any good in a stand up fight. A fact that flat out ruins the tension in one of the most pivotal scenes. That, combined with the sudden shift in character personalities leaves this book an awkward mess, that only serves as a spring bored into the 'grand' finally of the series.

Great book

While I can’t say this was as good as the first four books. Nor that all the ends were tied up. It was still a really great book! Buck is still my favorite of the gang but everyone has a favorite. Worth a listen!

Amazing

The story continues with even more twists and turns. I am loving this series! The story is in-depth but not confusing, the characters are well developed and very interesting. Learning the history of the leviathan was intriguing and at times suspenseful. There is some character development that will really change one of the characters, I can’t wait to see where that goes. The narration was very well done, John Pirhalla does a great job. I would definitely recommend this series!

LOVE THIS SERIES

John's narration makes these characters just come to life. Sara did a great job of throwing in some wrenches and dead ends along the way. Want to have books to keep you stuck to your chair - read all of the Bell Witch Series.... it does not disappoint

Awesome book!

This book had me hanging on for more. Suspense is my weakness, and I was hooked by book 1! The storyline picks up where it left off in the previous book, just as if there was no break! I have mixed feelings about reading the next book! I can’t wait to read it, though I’m sad that it’s the last in the series. Nothing against the book, but Audible itself! When they are slow about releasing books, and yes, it was Audible that was slow, not the Author or publisher, avid readers can get through close to 100 unrelated books before they get the chance to get back into this storyline, and readers have to refresh their memories so they aren’t lost. Audible is doing authors, publishers, and their readers a disservice by delaying the releases of books.

WOW

It was a pleasant surprise to get this book after assuming the series was complete. This ties everything together nice and clean and makes me want to get my own trio of hell hounds. BRAVO!!!
