Thomas Troward (1847-1916) was an English author whose works influenced the New Thought Movement and mystic Christianity. Troward was a divisional judge in British-administered India. His avocation was the study of comparative religion. After his retirement from the judiciary in 1896, Troward set out to apply logic and a judicial weighing of evidence in the study of matters of cause and effect.

Thomas Troward was a judge in British-administered India who wrote and lectured widely on the power of the mind, and became president of the International New Thought Alliance. The Hidden Power comprises a collection of Troward's essays on consciousness, symbolism, psychology, and mental science. 

In 1948 the modern mystic Neville Goddard presented a series of lessons in Los Angeles that many have come to regard as the teacher's clearest, most penetrating explanation of his methods of mental creativity. This special audio program, narrated by New Thought scholar Mitch Horowitz, recreates Neville's master class, preserving his words exactly as listeners heard them at the time.

This collection of miscellaneous essays was published posthumously in 1921. In the first and largest section, The Hidden Power, the author identifies Spirit as the "innermost within" of all things and the unseen essence of all phenomena. He develops this proposition to claim that Spiritual Science has fixed laws just as does Physical Science, and that an understanding of the laws could enable man to develop powers of which he is currently unaware. The other essays cover a range of topics relating to metaphysics, the Bible and other arcana of religion.

Among New Thought authors, Henry Thomas Hamblin particularly emphasized in his writings the power and necessity of dynamic and judicious thought. Since his death in 1958, his work has been continued by The Hamblin Trust, whose mission is described as "enriching people's lives through Right Thinking".
