Collins, the feeling of an actual record recently unearthed - and unearthly! Concerning the – now-classic - trope of a young man who must live in his uncle’s spooky estate in order to inherit it, the story develops to involve a spectral woman who visits him and whom he falls in love with, as well as guns, kidnappings, and battle. The majority of the accounts come from the young man’s perspective and Collins lends them a concentrated dramatic tenor that makes this a horrific and exciting pause-resister.
