To be honest I didn't have high expectations for this book. I was mostly just curious to see how the whole orc+human relationship would be handled. And for the first quarter or so of the book I just found it hilariously cringey. Loooots of monster smut, captivity, breeding etc... definitely not for everyone and I didn't really think it was for me either.

But then at some point, the stakes suddenly started feeling real. I started really feeling the FMC's inner conflict and fear, and slowly understanding the MMC's reasons for doing what he does (even if I didn't always like it). There's a surprisingly impactful plot underpinning all the smut, and although the characters' behaviour sometimes irritated me, they have depth. Both of them are to some extent products of their upbringing and environment, but both refuse to be defined by their pasts and instead seek to be better.

Give it a try, this book may surprise you! But definitely wear headphones. 😂

So this is an amazing audiobook series. Shane East does such a wonderful job narrating both the orcs rough voices and the sweet women. And even giving the orcs their own different voices too. So impressive. I love the world that’s built here. I actually read this one last in the series and actually started the series with book 2. Therefore I think this was a bit hard for me to read because I think Grimmar isn’t as good to his woman as the other orcs in the rest of the series. I kind of loved and hated him! There are some rough moments in this book that aren’t really as bad in any of other others in this series. So I do reccomend reading the second book in the series first or if you’re unsure if you like Grimmar keep on reading this series because it gets even better and the male orc characters in the other books are much more likeable haha. Not to say I didn’t enjoy this book, I did very much! Perhaps I just don’t like Grimmar all that much 🤣

This was surprisingly good!! Picked it up as free on Audible Now I'm hooked 🫶🏼 You will be too , as long as you take it for what it is " human /orc romance 18+ and not real life. It had more depth than what I was expecting. The plot and world building great -A rollercoaster of feelings 😍❤️‍🔥😨😳 Grimarr MMC is a monster but I loved him. Shane East narration is out this world , Fantastic ! I couldn't shop listening. So off to read the next one -On my headphones not a book for loud speaker 😂 lol

Really struggled with this. First book I DNF in a long while. The main female character is just so annoying, I have 4 hours left and there's literally been no character development for her. Sad I wasted a credit on this to be honest.
