Publisher's Summary

Is Moscow pulling the strings? Urgent, topical and shot through with insider knowledge, this is thriller writing on a grand scale.

Russian counterintelligence chief Colonel Dominika Egorova has been a recruited asset of the CIA - stealing Kremlin secrets for her handler, Nate Nash - for over seven years. In the dazzling finale of the Red Sparrow trilogy, their forbidden and tumultuous love affair continues, mortally dangerous for them both but irresistible.

In Washington, a newly installed administration is selecting its cabinet members. Dominika hears whispers of a closely held Kremlin operation to place a mole in a high intelligence position. If the Kremlin's candidate is confirmed, the Russians will have access to all the names of assets spying for the CIA in Moscow, including Dominika's.

Dominika recklessly immerses herself in the palace intrigues of the Kremlin, searching for the mole's identity and stealing as many of President Putin's secrets for her CIA handlers as she can before her time runs out.

With a plot ripped from tomorrow's headlines, The Kremlin's Candidate is a riveting listen and a thrilling conclusion to the trilogy that began with Red Sparrow and Palace of Treason

So sad it's over!

The third book was as good as the first two. Why a trilogy? This story could go on with more adventures. Thoroughly enjoyed.

Comments from the couch 🛋

I’ve listened to all three books and have ( obviously) enjoyed them all. Have even tried a few of the recipes 😂

Not bad. But not a 10.

Story was good. Was a few things that were a bit unbelievable though and the reading of the recipes was really annoying!
If the recipes annoy you too I found that skipping to the next chapter works as the recipes are read at the end of each chapter.
I did feel like I connected with the characters. The narration was also very good.
Also just for your information Mr Author, the Australian abbreviation 'FIGJAM' actually stands for 'F#*k I'm Good Just Ask Me'. It's the word Good not Great! No one says F#*k I'm Great! They say F#*k I'm Good. 👍

Incredible

An incredibly well written trilogy. The story line, the journey, the attention to detail, the recipes. I have a massive void in my life now.

Poorly written and sexist. Different author?

Where do I start with this book? I was looking forward to it, but it was honestly like it was either written by a bad ghost writer, or the author simply stopped caring and just wanted it over with. The inconsistencies (like Nate’s aura changing colours) aside, the complete change in personalities and total utter abandonment of all the trade craft so meticulously described in previous books was completely unbelievable. The author also sounds like he swallowed a thesaurus, I actually started laughing at the dialogue. Was the editor asleep at the wheel?

The author is repulsive in the way he describes women. Women are either sex objects or asexual, no in between. In one scene the author literally describes a highly intelligent, successful woman as nothin more than “shoes and a dress.” Nate of course has to have sex with literally Every. Single. Female. He works with. God forbid he actually be professional.

The ending was an abomination. I’m not against unhappy endings but this was the most ridiculous, unrealistic ending. Please don’t waste your time.

good read

the follow on from the previous two book was excellent thoroughly enjoyed the journey. this third book is read by someone who doesnt know how to pronounce some basic English words. clearly the producers have the same difficulty as they would have picked it up and presumably corrected them. the Australian accent was a little too bogan.

Fascinating and horrifying.

Brilliant trilogy. Keeps the listener on a tight string with unexpected turns and twists. Close to my imagined reality of the world of spies. Enjoyed both narrators.
