Amazing story that keeps readers from putting the book down

Mary’s E. Pearson is a master of world building. Pearson creates a sixth sense for her readers, as if they are travelling along side each of the main characters journeys.

I personally love everything about this book, but it may not be the same for all. I highly recommend this book for those who loved Sarah J. Maas Throne of glass mystery and adventure story line, and Holly Black’s Cruel Prince scheming and deceptions twists.

Loved all the performers. They all did an amazing job of brining the the characters to life

More of a YA medieval romance story

I have some mixed feelings about A Kiss of Deception, I liked it; possibly more then like. But there were also few things that didn't sit well for me. First thing, this book feels like a YA medieval romance story, as their isn't much fantasy to it. And that's to blame on the world-building; their wasn't enough. Second thing is how the plot is slow and too wordy, to a point where it becomes repetitive. But in saying that I was still glued to the pages, I was invested in the characters and where the story would go. The romance is tame and the love triangle didn't annoy me (as most do). And the plot twist was perfect; I wasn't expecting it. I do look forward to continuing the series and see how the journey ends.

Thrilling and lovely romance!

I recommend this audiobook highly. Couldn't stop listening to it for hours; the story is mysterious and magical and the characters are lovely and strong. The narrators are doing a very good job too. I'll start listening to the sequel right now. :)

3.5 stars

I enjoyed the premise and characters of this story. The plot I found at times a little slow going and unnecessarily wordy. But all in all it was an enjoyable read and I do plan on continuing with the series.

The narration was good though I kept wanting to hear the different voices at the same time. I wish the voices for Rafe and Kaden were used throughout the story not just when the chapter was from their perspective. The chapters where happening in 'real time' and the change between hearing their masculine voices to hearing the voice of Lia attempting to sound like them was often quite jarring to the overall flow of the story.

this book has a impressive but relatable main heroin, the Book also does the love triangle trope justice.

An OK story

The story was well written, the content was interesting, it kept me coming back to listen to more of the story. The reading could have been done so much better with different voices. The tale finished quiet suddenly right in the middle of an epic part of the story. Iam still debating if I would buy the second book once it is released on Audio, mainly because the great secret was released at the end of this one. What is left to tell other than the mopping up of emotions.

Good first book

I loved this book and how the author deliberately keeps the identity of the Prince and Assassin unknown until the end of the book. Loved the story, the characters, the world setting and the romance. Can't wait to read the next book, it's going to be epic!
