Publisher's Summary

Separated at birth - reunited at knifepoint!

Merrick Welbourne never expected to discover a long-lost twin! Particularly one who'd rob him and leave him senseless on the road. Now living his brother's aristocratic life, he had new trials, tribulations...and temptations he'd never dreamed of. Not the least being Chloe Simon, she of rare mettle, proud heart, and unmatchable beauty!

Chloe Simon knew Lord Lindale was definitely not himself. After encountering the masked highwayman Hawk, he seemed...different. More approachable. More...desirable. And in stolen moments of startling intimacy, he made her feel like titled nobility. But she was only a doctor's daughter, with every reason to steer clear of his very kissable lips...!

EXCELLENT!!!

Typical Tanya Anne Crosby, so good you don't want to reach the end but can't put it down or turn it off.

James Gilles is not my favorite narrator, yet eventually you hear the book not the performance which is how it should be.

Chemistry yes, heat a little, a couple tasteful sex scenes.

Creditworthy? Duh, yes!

Nice Story Line

Really enjoyed this story, now on to book two. Strong chemistry between Merrick and Chloe, just wish there was a little more heat.

Performance hard to follow

The performer has a Scottish accent and reads very fast. This makes it hard to follow the details of the story. I believe that if the reader did not have the accent, I would have enjoyed the book a lot more.

Paper-thin plot

The narration was dragged down by a lacklustre story. Her worst that I have read.

Twin Princes separated at birth, neither knowing the other existed.

An Earl’s daughter gave herself to the Prince, certain they would soon be wed. The Prince could not go against protocol so, at the birth of their twin sons, insisted she pick the one she wanted to keep and if she did not agree, she would lose her father‘a land and she would have no place to live and raise her sons. Broken-heartedly, the Earl’s daughter agreed and wept as the bells rang out in celebration of the royal wedding. The following years, the King’s son watched as his father drank heavily and spent little time with him, and even less time with the Queen. He was told the Queen was not his birth mother but little else.

His father was unwell. He did his best to see to the kingdoms affairs. As he was sorting through the mess on his father’s desk, he ran across a letter which did not make sense. It was concerning a piece of land his father had refused to allow him any knowledge of. He just put him off that it was under a different rule than the rest of his kingdom. Merick has to know what this was about . On hi way there he was attacked by a few men in black hoods. During the scuffle, he pulled off the hood of the leader. He was shocked as he looked into the mirror image of his own face. Everything went black. When Merick awakened, he was without a carriage, surrounded by men looking to him for answers , believing him to be their leader. Seeing his injuries, they sent for the girl who was a nurse. When she arrived, he groggily came to. He was in the arms of an angel.

In the rest of the story, Merick pretends to be Ian, trying to discover who these people were. He discovers things are not right and determines to solve the mystery. In the process, he pursues the “angel”.

The author has combined two different historical events in creating this tale, which is okay, except the “meat” of the story is lacking in substance. She has attempted to fill it in with explicitly sexual scenes and self-talk.

The Narrator, James Gillies, narration sounds much like an auctioneer, which adds to the weakness of the plot.

It could be a very good story with a little more effort. Parts of it are too surreal, and does smoothly “fit in “ with the flow of the tale.

The characters are well portrayed and the scenes fairly well described.

Seduced by a prince

This was a lovely and romantic story of two princes (twins) that were separated at birth. It is the story of one twin who was groomed to be king, he wants to meet his mother and falls in love with her servant.

A great story!

James Gillis as narrator was excellent! If I could have given him 10 stars I would have. He really brought the story to life. At one time he sounded like an old time camp ground stump preacher he got so into telling it. This story is about 2 brothers--identical twins, separated shortly after birth by their horridly wretched father with one twin being raised by each parent. Neither knew about the other until years later when they came together and we clearly see the differences in their personalities and how it shaped their destinies. Highwaymen, embezzlement and a handicapped woman all add to keep this plot moving quickly along. The end is a real surprise. I never saw that coming. This is a good one. You will like it.
