Editorial reviews

The late, great Walter Covell works his vocal magic as Dr. Watson in this audiobook performance of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Hound of the Baskervilles, a Sherlock Holmes mystery. Required reading in many schools, this should be required listening for the audiophile.

In England’s desolate West Country, a nobleman is found dead on the grounds of his country house. The moors surrounding the house have long been thought to be haunted by a behemoth hellhound and a curse, and the nobleman’s death has all the markings of just such an encounter. But all is not what it seems in Sherlock Holmes territory. Put your feet up, have a small taste of laudanum, and enjoy this frightening, mysterious, and intellectually satisfying romp on the moor.

Publisher's Summary

In what is arguably both the best Sherlock Holmes story in the canon and one of the classic all-time mystery novels, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle parlays his interest in the occult with keen scientific detection in a story that prominently showcases Dr. Watson. A lonely English moor, full of ancient woe and inhabited by a hound from hell, and a host of suspects all give Sherlock Holmes and Watson a baffling case to solve.
