Not a bad story I suppose but the narrator was very distracting. She constantly puts the emphasis on the wrong words in a sentence which is annoying and in some cases completely changes the meaning of a sentence. It’s as if she doesn’t understand the context of the words she’s saying. Many mispronunciations topped it off.

The narration was frustrating to listen to and for a book about language and translation included mispronunciations which was baffling.
I persisted with the novel hoping it would come together in some way but it really just wandered along with no clear plot. The topic of translation was interesting but the novel overall could have been developed further.
