She's a member of the United States Lighthouse Society as well as the Chesapeake Lights Chapter. She has visited lighthouses in Asia, Europe, the Caribbean, USA, the Galapagos Islands, and Tahiti. She was a longtime member of the Caribbean Tourist Board in Washington D.C. Her travel memories from Scotland and Ireland are woven throughout this book.
