Publisher's Summary

The first time you meet someone, you make eye contact. You smile, say hello. Should be simple, if you're anyone but me.

The first time I met Dylan Reed, I found myself making eye contact with a different part of his body. You see, I'm very good at being shy, not to mention extremely well-versed in rambling nonsense and, unfortunately, rather highly skilled at making a fool of myself in front of a guy I'm attracted to. At the time, I knew nothing about him and thought none of what I said would matter since I'd never speak to him again. Turns out, I was very wrong.

He was the star wide receiver of the football team, one of the few players expected to make it into the NFL, and I ended up seeing him all over campus. I might have also propositioned him, run away from him, attacked him with a cooking utensil...and...uh, maybe I shouldn't tell you all of it. It's pretty normal stuff, things you'd expect...from me.

Eventually, the time came when I couldn't hide anymore - not that he'd have let me even if I tried. Before now, he never knew I was secretly watching him. Now that we see each other every day, he knows when I have a hard time looking away. It doesn't help that I'm not the most subtle person in the world either. He smiles at me and tells me he finds me fascinating because of my quirks. I can't even tell him that I think my heart beats differently whenever he's around.

He thinks we're going to be best friends. I think I have a big thing for him, and the more I get to know him, the more I don't care that I'm not allowed to be his friend, let alone fall for him. The thing is, that's exactly what I'm doing - what we're doing, I think. Falling. Hard.

Contains mature themes.

Good story.

I liked the story but I really couldn't get use to the Males version of a female voice... It was so distracting because he sounded like an annoying whinge.. I didn't mind when he was doing the male voice but the Female imitation sounded.. So wrong lol

Nice story except for

Easy listening story however the male version of the female voices were horrible.
Hi voice was nice to listen to but his version of mother, daughter and girlfriend were hideous and hard to keep catch on with the story.

Sports romance

The Hardest Fall by Ella Maise is a college sports romance.

Zoe and Dylan’s romance is rather sweet, and I think that’s mainly because of Zoe’s personality. It takes awhile for them to get together, but their roommates/friends to lovers romance has a nice progression throughout the story and the underlying attraction throughout the story comes across clearly.

There’s lots of secrets in this story as well.

The story is dual POV’s from both Zoe and Dylan.

There’s some scenes which could be triggering to readers.

Really good!

I loved this book! The story is really nice and sweet! Dylan and Chloe are a great couple and it was fun to see them fall in love. Is a slow burn so it takes a while to get there. My only issue is the male narrator, when he is doing the female voice .... omg is really bad! I like his voice for the male but not for the female, it was really distracting, but overall I loved the book!

Swoonworthy

An amazing read that helped get me hooked on romance stories.
This has a perfect balance between steamy scenes and an amazing story line with depth, plot twists and romance. Could not put it down, and have enjoyed rereading it several times as well.
If you are considering reading, you won't be disappointed.

hardest fall

excellent well written funny story . narrated well definitely worth 5 stars. Characters had greet chemistry and because of the way the story was written you became a part of it, you laughed at Zoe's quirks and the way she was when she was around Dylan or thought of him. I liked how he was with her too.

Too long and drawn out

The story is quite good, but it drags on. I am bored with it and finding it difficult to finish.

Super cute & a little cheesy

This book was super cute. It gave me love at first site/soul mate vibes. It had an aspect of mystery which kept me super intrigued too.

The characters were very loveable. Zoe was super quirky and very cringe at times but sweet. Dylan was super swoon worthy. He was a real gentleman with a soft side & good morals.

The book was quiet angsty as the characters slowly get to know each other and start to give into their feelings. But once they connect it was 🔥.

Highly recommend for anyone looking for a sweet romance read with a little spice & mystery.
