Clare Bowditch has always had a knack for telling stories. Through her music and performing, this beloved Australian artist has touched hundreds of thousands of lives. But what of the stories she used to tell herself? That 'real life' begins only once you're thin or beautiful, that good things happen only to other people. Your Own Kind of Girl reveals a childhood punctuated by grief, anxiety and compulsion and tells how these forces shaped Clare's life for better and for worse. This is a heartbreaking, wise and at times playful memoir.

It happened the day of the Moon Festival. It could have been left behind, they all could have moved on with their lives. But secrets have a habit of rising to the surface, especially in small towns. Two couples, four ironclad friendships, the perfect coastal holiday town. With salt-stung houses perched like lifeguards overlooking the shore, Lago Point is the scene of postcards, not crime scenes. Wife and mother Abbi, town cop Blake, schoolteacher Hannah and local doctor Will are caught in their own tangled webs of deceit.

A spate of seemingly unconnected murders in southern England prompt a high-profile task force to be formed and led by DCI Jack Hawksworth, one of the Force's new rising stars who combines modern methods with old-school instincts. The victims appear as disparate as their style of death; the only link that Hawk and his team can pull together is that the murdered are all men of an identical age. The task force has nothing but cold cases of decades past to comb through in the hope that they might find a clue to who is behind the savagery.

Audible should reopen the Bogle-Chandler case!
Even though I wasn’t around at the time, the Bogle-Chandler case is one I’ve always known about and been intrigued by. There was a great documentary on tv about it a few years back and the fact that no one knows whether it was a Cold War murder or gas poisoning from a factory is just crazy to me.
I really enjoyed this adaptation of true events and it’s inspired me to read more about what happened in the 60s. Surely with modern day technology this case can be solved - hint hint Audible!

I didn't really know what an audio drama was but I'm glad I gave this a go. First episode took a bit to get into but then I was gripped until the end - surprised myself at how quickly I got through it but couldn't stop listening!
