A wonderful developing storyline. Bartimaius as ever is the sections I most desire to listen to. Well worth the time invested to listen.

Laugh out loud enjoyment

Love these books,
The banter from bartameous is brilliant, Jonathon Stroud has a great humous way of writing something that could be quite scary, it’s almost like dark humour, very clever & enjoyable, with underlying morals.
Steven Pacey is a wonderful narrator (thank you!) he animates the characters brilliantly,
Such a fun book to listen to, I couldn’t stop listening! Stormed my way through this! Ready for the next one! :-))))

Good performance and good story...mostly

Good narration, but the story was a little awkward at points. Especially evident with the characters in the government. Many times their actions and narratives were less believable than the magic. Overall though, it was an enjoyable read.

Top job narration

While parts of the story weren’t as good as the previous book, Steven Pacey’s narration more then makes up for it
